Abstract

Study of changes in some characteristics oasis environment and their effects on the development cycle of the white scale date palm Parlatoria blanchardi Targ. (Homoptera, Diaspididae) in the region of Biskra. The aim of this work is to study the effect of changes in some characteristics of oasis environment on the development cycle of populations of white scale (Parlatoria blanchardi) in the region of Biskra. Our results showed that the pest develops four generations per year, spring, summer, autumn and winter partial. This trend is influenced by either abiotic (especially climate) or biotic (predation and parasitism) limiting the outbreak of this pest.
