Abstract: | This memoire investigates some properties of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and lowdensity polyethylene (LDPE) blends, at three different concentrations: 20, 50 and 80 wt % of PVC. Besides, composite samples that was prepared from PVC/LDPE blend reinforced with different date palm leaf fiber (DPLF) content: 10 wt%, 20 wt% and 30 wt% were also studied. The mechanical behavior of the PE / PVC / DPLF composites showed that with the increase of the untreated fiber ratio, as well as the PVC content in the composite, the stress (breaking strength) and the elongation at the rupture decrease, while Shore hardness increases gradually. It has been shown by IR spectroscopic analysis of the treated and untreated fiber that the intensity of the -OH absorption band decreases and increases in the polymer blend with increasing PVC content |
