Activité insecticide de l’extrait aqueux de « Euphorbia guyoniana » (Euphorbiaceaes) contre Ectomyelois ceratoniae Zeller (Lepidoptera : Pyralidae)

Abstract

Summary The study concerns the toxicity of the aqueous extract of Euphorbia guyoniana, a spontaneous plant from the northern Algerian Sahara, on the larvae L5 and the eggs of Ectomyelois ceratoniae. The results of the mortality rates obtained in the L5 larvae treated with the crude aqueous E guyoniana extract by ingestion show a mortality rate of 56.7% obtained after five days, whereas in the control no mortality was recorded during the same period, so larval development suggests that during the passage of L5 larvae from 100% control batches and 43.3% of larvae treated at the Chrysalis stage. It is noted a TL50 of the order of 3. 89 days. The treated eggs have an hatching rate of 52.22% which is low compared to the control eggs which have an hatching rate of about 96.66%. the chi-square test (χ2) show that treatment with the crude aqueous extract of E guyoniana has a significant effect on hatching compared to the control with X2 = 15.02 and p = 0.000.
