dc.description.abstract | The urban wastewater can lead to pollution of the environment if discharged into the wild without prior treatment, especially because of their high organic load. In this paper the experimental pilots composed of three tanks: the first planted with Typha latifolia, the second with Phragmites australis, and the third one left without vegetation. The filling is done regularly with urban wastewater from the city of Biskra (wastewater discharge Chetma) with a frequency of once every (5) five days. The study of purification performance of the system proves that it insures a significant removal of BOD5 (75.69% to 71.60% Phragmites australis and Typha for latofilia), COD (66.75% for Phragmites australis, 79% for Typha latifolia) and a significant decrease TSS (95% for Phragmites australis and Typha latifolia 92%). The results show also a significant decreases of NH4+ (68%), the PO43- (59%) and NO3- (62%). It was also noted that the elimination of pathogenic microorganisms is important | en_US |
