Abstract: A contract of maritime transport is a contract under which the carrier undertakes to transport goods by sea from one port to another in return for payment of a wage and a contractual liability arising from the contract of maritime carriage. This responsibility is three pillars: fault, damage and causal relationship. In which the Algerian legislator provided for the carrier's responsibility in maritime law and civil law. Under international law, the Brussels Convention of 1924 and the Hamburg Convention of 1978, when a dispute between a shipper and a carrier and a dispute between the shipper and the carrier are brought to justice, the carrier's proceedings are based on general procedures for filing suit, The ordinary and extraordinary recourse methods and the effects of the maritime carrier's liability and compensation case and the maritime carrier's liability exemption.
