dc.description.abstractThe main objective of this research is to shed light on the teacher's use of the mother tongue in French as a foreign language and to explain what role it plays in the learning of a foreign language. Especially FLE "our case study" And in order to deal with the idea of the presence of this language phenomenon, we went on field to make an inquiry by observisons and by questionnaire to know if this recourse represents a support or a barrier. Finally, the information collected about our work allows us to say that the mother tongue plays a multiple role; it all depends on the rate of its use in the classroom. If it is used reasonably; it is considered an aid, but if it is used excessively; it is an obstacle. Key words: teaching-learning of FLE, mother tongue, help, disability.en_US
