Abstract: | Within the broad panorama of issues and factors that affect the teaching / learning of foreign languages, our intervention will reflect on two aspects in particular: the place of interculturality and the use of new communication technologies (multimedia) more particularly the documentary film, to see if it is possible to put these in the service of the first. The aim of our research was to promote intercultural analysis from the target language and culture in French documentary film sequences. These film sequences allowed us to expose the learner to the intercultural aspects of French language and culture. We aim to develop the intercultural competences of the learner from attractive teaching units. In this regard, we have tried to outline the characteristics of each of these two aspects, which can interact (which we have investigated) but which do not belong to the same domains: one being an end and the other rather a way. So, we have dealt separately with their importance and the role they can play in the context of foreign languages. Lastly, we have tried to see if and how the documentary film can present a fruitful meeting place where technology is put at the service of interculturality.
