The Children of Alexandria by Françoise Chandernagor is a fictionalized historical biography whose boundaries clash with the myth of Cleopatra. Our research consists in retracing the origins of the myth in order to understand how a historical figure is regenerated thanks to a gathering of synchronicities, an automythification and a wonder. Between fiction, Historicity and mythification, this novel tries to rebalance the balance between the archetype of seduction and that of intelligence to restore a truth often neglected. This work includes two main parts, a first part in which the process of mythification will be explained, and a second part where we will demonstrate the influence of Orientalism, exoticism and Roman politics on the construction of a myth. Keywords : Biography, myth, mythification/automythification, Historicity, orientalism/exoticism.en_US
