Poétique du héros tragique dans Carmen de Prosper Mérimée

Abstract

Carmen est une nouvelle de l’écrivain français Prosper Mérimée, dans laquelle il raconte une aventure amoureuse du brigadier Don José avec la bohémienne Carmen, il s’agit d’une histoire tragique dont les évènements se sont déroulés en Espagne. Notre recherche se propose comme méthode d’analyse du texte littéraire. Le travail comprend deux grandes parties, une première partie usant des différentes et riches notions théoriques pour être au service de l’analyse de notre corpus afin de prouver que ce dernier répond aux caractéristiques de la tragédie et du tragique, et dans une deuxième partie, nous proposons une étude analytique des personnages principaux, en particulier Carmen ; qui représente le personnage noyau autour duquel se sont déroulées les actions, notre travail consistera, dès lors, à essayer de prouver que le récit adopte une structure tragique et que le personnage principal est un héros tragique. Abstract Carmen is a short story of the French writer Prosper Mérimée in which he tells of a love story of the brigadier with the gypsy, it’s a tragic story whose events took place in Spain. Our research proposes to analyse the literary text. The work includes two major parts, a first part using different and rich theoretical notions to be at the service of the analysis of our corpus to prove that this last responds to the characteristics of the tragedy and the tragic. And in a second part we propose an analytical study of the main characters, in particular Carmen who represents the central figure around which the actions took place. Our work will consist in trying to prove that the story adopts a tragic structure and that the main character is a tragic hero.
