dc.description.abstract | By transforming a data set with a modification of the Champernowne distribution function, a kernel quantile estimator for heavy-tailed distributions is given. The asymptotic mean squared error (AMSE) of the proposed estimator and related asymptotically optimal bandwidth are evaluated.
