dc.description.abstract | The study aims to highlight the issues of society through the reformist press between 1919-1954 that represented one of the sources of writing of national history, by addressing the most important social issues that dealt with the subject of Algerian women in the colonial period, as well as with youth. The study also discussed the most important issues that Algerian society has suffered, which represented the negative part of their daily lives by treating some social diseases. Nor has it neglected to address the living conditions, the unemployment problem and the health status imposed by the French colonial policy in Algeria. As for the cultural and religious issues, they were one of the most important dealt with in these newspapers, and called for the establishment of associations and clubs, which are the branches of scouts because of the importance of these facilities in public life, and also addressed the issue of Islamic endowments. He also took care of political initiatives, the issue of exceptional laws and their reflections on the public life of Algerians, and the reformist newspapers did not neglect the issue of fighting naturalization, the transformation of Algerian society French and Christian missionaries, as well as the national events, and they were concerned with the Berber trend in Algeria, the parliamentary representation and the issue of elections. The reformist press covered a very difficult and important period in which Algeria, the post-World War I period, passed through to 1954m, where its agriculture policy shifted from focusing on food products to cash-processing agriculture, as was expressed in the reformist press during that period. It also dealt with trade issues and the formation of Workers' Unions, and also wrote about the most important activities Algeria has known in this field, and emphasized the promotion of the banking sector to get away from the usurious transactionsIt also discussed the problems of Algerian workers, linked the general conditions to the financial system, called for the establishment of a national bank, and creating a stable national currency that protects Algerian traders from the fluctuations of the French currency in the international market, and these reformist newspapers spoke about Algeria's general budget and the fiscal Council policy toward the requirements of Algerians. She also spoke about the tax system and its effects on the public life of the people, and these newspapers did not neglect all the local and even international economic issues such as the international economic crisis and its reflections on Algeria | en_US |
