This paper presents the vector control of a permanent magnets synchronous machine without mechanical speed and position sensors. Those are estimated by using the extended Kalman filter. The position of the rotor is used to realize the function of the three-phases/two-phases transformation and conversely. The estimated speed constitutes the return of the loop of speed regulation. Simulations tests carried out show the robustness of the proposed filter for various conditions (load, inversion of rotation direction and tracking) of operation of the total system drive.en_US
