In this study, flat plate, air heaters were investigated both theoretically and experimentally in an effort to improve the thermal performances of the solar air collector. The fluid flows out through the interstices between fins in the same row; this allows a good distribution of the fluid and reduces the dead zones. Secondly, and for the same configuration, the results are compared both experimentally and theoretically with those obtained with a solar air collector without fins. Therefore, the solar air heater was mounted on a stand facing south at an inclination angle, and it was tested under different environmental conditions. The experimental setup was instrumented for the measurement of solar radiation, temperature of the atmosphere air, inlet and outlet air temperature, surface temperature of absorber plate, air speed and wind velocity.
