The reproductive project in ancient societies was one of the most important projects of life, based on a masculine culture, biased to procreate males who would become warrior knights, strong men, and symbols of strength and virility, at the expense of female procreation, which represented a project of captivity or shame, according to the societal culture that controlled the Social life. The cultural determinants of the reproductive project reflect the nature of the society's prevailing culture in the family, which determines the behavior of women's reproduction within society and reflects the image of the female body for the childbearing and non-beneficial through popular beliefs. By studying the topic: Cultural determinants of the reproductive project in the family (Foughala region as a model), and depending on the anthropological approach. We have reached results that the culture of the group has an impact on reproductive behavior more than the economic and social conditions, as the project of marriage is procreation and reproduction, and this happens gradually through the desire for a child in the first stage a desire for pregnancy as a sign of fertility for women and in parallel a sign of virility for women the man. And in a second stage, a desire for motherhood, to establish her status as a wife and mother, and to win the rank of a woman who gives birth, which varies between giving birth to males and giving birth to girls only, “I give birth … so I exist.” Keywords: cultural determinants, fertility, reproductive project, familly.en_US
