A number of crafts and industries emerged in central Morocco during the era of independent dynasties, including the Rustamid state. The tribes transformed from pastoral activities to settled tribes engaged in industries, thanks to security, stability, justice, and the wisdom of their leaders. They became a destination for all strangers, and social formations emerged that played prominent roles in the economic life in general and in the industry in particular. The availability of diverse raw materials in the country facilitated this. They excelled in many crafts and industries, including textile, leather, pottery, and woodwork. Their markets were famous for the popularity of these industries, especially the textile industry, for which the people of central Morocco and its lands were renowned. Its location made it a destination for trade caravans, attracting people from all directions.en_US
