Abstract

In our study, we dealt with the issue of population protest movements in Algerian cities (a field study in the city of Biskra), in which we dealt with a problem: What is the nature of the protest movements in the city of Biskra? Which resulted in the following sub-questions: - Do complaints improve electricity distribution services in the city of Biskra? - Will the riots improve electricity distribution services in the city of Biskra? In order to answer these questions, we did the theoretical research through two theoretical chapters, through which we were able to understand the dimensions of the two variables and their indicators. As we conducted the field study on two samples, the first sample related to the citizens concerned with the protests against the poor electricity services provided by the Sonelgaz Corporation. The sample was the snowball sample, and the second was the simple random sample, related to officials of the Sonelgaz Foundation, which is the spatial field of the study, as the questionnaire tool was applied to the first sample as a main tool, and the standardized interview to the second sample. After the field study and the analysis and interpretation of the field data obtained, we reached the following results: - The complaints lead to the improvement of electricity distribution services in the city of Biskra - The riots lead to the improvement of electricity distribution services in the city of Biskra - Using mass media to expand the circle of protests at the level of the cit of biskra - The general result: The protest movements are a means of change
