Abstract

Our study falls within the field of issues of ancient Arab criticism, in particular the question of honesty and lying during the fourth century of Hijri by applied criticism, we took into account the point of view of critics on that question. One criticizes the need to match reality, the commitment to moral honesty and others who have imposed on poetry to transcend reality and to free its poetic imagination, that is, to free the honesty from its moral concept to its artistic concept, while others preferred to focus on poetry and its aesthetic value and antipathy beyond reality
