Abstract

Our study aims to highlight the role played by the tools of fiscal policy in achieving economic growth represented mainly in the growth of gross domestic product, whether in the short term, which is what Keynes touched upon, represented in bringing about a balance between aggregate supply and aggregate demand, and the effectiveness of expenditures and taxes in achieving economic stability. Or in the long term, through investment in human capital, spending on infrastructure and military spending. Where Algeria sought to advance the economy and try to raise growth rates, but its attempts failed, as it still suffers from weak economic structures and its dependence on the hydrocarbon sector, and this is what we find through the high rates of inflation and unemployment and its instability, in addition to the deficit in the balance of payments and the general budget, where it was Fiscal policy has a significant impact on achieving long-term growth in Algeria, which is the opposite of the expectations of economic theories, where we built an economic model that measures this relationship in the long and short terms, as our standard study confirmed that the impact of fiscal policy tools on growth is not stable during the study period.
