Our study, which is titled self-defeating and its relation with psychosomatic disorders with divorced women, aimed to uncover the relation between the self-defeating and the psychosomatic disorders with divorced women. The study included two sides in the process: the first is descriptive which is based on studying the differences between divorced women due to the variables of self-defeating according to age, number of children, type of divorce, duration of marriage, period of marriage, years of divorce, and housing, which was based on a descriptive and correlational study (statistical indications, standard deviation and averages). The sample consisted of 55 divorced women who were chosen using the snowball technique, and we analyzed the statistical significance in tables showing the relationship between the variables of the study, and being in the process of a dissertation in clinical psychology, we adopted the second side related to the clinical approach, where we chose three model cases that were studied by applying the case study technique, by conducting the semi-guided clinical interview, as well as applying the TAT test. We used the following study tools: self-defeating questionnaire prepared by the researcher, which was applied in the descriptive study, and which was subjected to the necessary statistical methods, as well as we applied the Cornell list of psychosomatic diseases to the sample and it was studied in the same statistical study, after analyzing the results statistically, the study provided that the divorced women have a moderate degree of self-defeating. They also suffer from some psychosomatic disorders which are: the intensity of the emotions of anxiety, anger and depression that affected their health condition, and the rise of complaints at the skeletal and muscular level, recurrence of the disease, visual complaints, and hormonal and glandular disorders. There is also a positive correlation between self-defeating and psychosomatic disorders in divorced women. However, there are no statistically significant differences between divorced women in self-defeating due to each of the variables of age, number of children, duration of marriage, years of divorce and housing, while there are statistically significant differences between divorced women in self-defeating due to the work variable . For the clinical study, it was supported and reinforced to the results of the correlational descriptive study, and that the three cases have common points in the absence of a high level of self-defeating, but each case has a coping style and psychological defense mechanisms different from one other due to the economic, academic, and family support levels.en_US
