dc.description.abstractThe mainpurposeofthisthesisistoinvestigatetheexistenceanduniquenessofsolu- tions, aswellastheasymptoticbehaviorofsomeviscoelasticproblemsinone-dimensional space, precisely,thisworkaddressestheproblemofundesirablevibrationsandthecon- trol fattitudestabilizationofa exiblesatelliteduringthemaneuvers.Inviewofthis, viscoelasticmaterialsaresuggestedtoattenuateorsuppresstheunwantedvibrationsof a exiblesatellite.The exiblesatellitesystemconsistsofacentralrigidhubandtwo large symmetric exibleappendages.Mathematically,theproblemcanbemodeledby a setofpartialdi erentialequations(PDEs)takingintoaccountthedynamicboundary condition.
