The bituminous concrete face of the dam Ghrib "Algeria" is applied to the upstream slope through a drainage layer of porous cement concrete. The stability of the mask can become precarious at temperatures reached by direct sunlight (70 ° C), it was necessary to cover with thermal protection. This protection would be obtained with a layer of concrete resting on the mask. This solution without doubt perfect had the disadvantage of being costly. To ensure that the asphalt concrete adopted (mask) is not likely to deform and flow under the influence of a very high temperature which can reach 70 ° C, we placed a sample constructed on a slope facing 1 / 1 (slope of the dam Ghraib) and maintained for more than 48 hours in an oven at the same temperature. The results confirmed that the mask dam Ghrib can seal without the need for thermal protection. The results confirmed that the mask dam Ghrib can seal without the need for thermal protection.en_US
