dc.description.abstractMost of the arid and semi-arid countries are facing water stress due to high agricultural water demand on one hand and the scarcity of available water resources on the other. These countries face, and will be even more in the coming years, with water resources management issue. Faced with the scarcity of water resources and the need to increase agricultural production due to an ever growing population, it becomes imperative to promote water use efficiency in irrigated agriculture. This work is literature review on main indicators used to assess performance in irrigated agriculture, with a focus on crop water use efficiency.en_US
