The design of earth retaining structures in the presence of water, under the action of an earthquake is an art in evolution. Violent earthquake often induce the breakdown of retaining structures accompanied by liquefaction of embankments saturated by water. With little opportunity of comparison with works auscultated and observed, the theoretical calculation methods available in literature seem to be limited. Thus, it is noted a lack of understanding of the complex soil-structure interaction, pore pressure and seismic action. This work focuses on the numerical estimation of active pressure on rigid retaining walls in the presence of water under seismic loading using PLAXIS software. Different assumptions about the pressure, pore pressure, displacement and acceleration will be tested.en_US
