This study aims for characterizing dissolved organic matter (DOM) from water samples of a tropical lake system (Yamoussoukro, CI) by excitation-emission fluorescence matrix (EEM) and PARAFAC. Based on 225 samples which were group up consider collection points and seasons, PARAFAC permit to extract globally five independent components describing fluorescence of the DOM. One also notes for four components, proteins peaks (S and BT) and humic substances peaks (A, C and M or α’, α and β) and for one component, unknown peaks (λex/λem= 285 nm/ 550 nm and λex/λem= 345 nm / 550 nm). The knowledge of origins of these DOM components and there evolution in different seasons allows to help districtof organic pollutionsources and monitoring of water quality of surface wateren_US
