Abstract: Summary The toxicity study of the essential oils of Cleome arabica (Capparidaceae), a plant harvested in the northern Algerian Sahara on adults of Ectomyelois ceratoniae, reveals perceptible toxic effects on this insect. for adults of E.ceratoniaes treated with essential oils by the application of doses 160, 320, 640μl / ml was recorded a 100% mortality rate for the 640μl / ml concentration obtained after 4 days, whereas for control adults no mortality was reported. The TL50 is 1.74 days and the LD50 is 207.17 μl / ml. The results obtained show that the essentials oils of Cleome arabica have an insecticidal action on the date moth.
