This PHD dissertation intends to analyze the dialogic relation between the mental representation of the physical space and the real material form of it. This dialogic relation is deduced from the practice use of architectural spaces and their configurative structures. In this way the dissertation uncovers meanings in the mind of the users that are systematically forgotten by architects designs and plans. In order of taking into account those meanings, architects should enlarge their conceptual positions and include broader frames of thought where buildings are only partial dimensions. The buildings are cultural objects not only physical objects. This dissertation, ethnometodological and semiotic, reveals the gap between the mental and real dimensions of architecture in the users, and shows that this gap should be analyzed in order to understand the behavior of people in the buildings and cities and the way this people moves around themen_US
