The aim of this study is to identify the fluctuations of oil prices on the Algerian balance of payments during the period from 2000 to 2017 through which we aim to stand up and rectify to take the necessary measures to address the phenomenon of balance of payments deficit, which reflects the health of the national economy, which depends on exports of oil by 97 %, to achieve this aim, the study was divided into three chapters. The first chapter includes theoretical aspects of the price of oil in the international oil markets, the second chapter includes the balance of payments and the ways (techniques) to solve the disruption in it, chapter three the motives of oil production in Algeria, and the relationship of oil prices to the Algerian balance of payments 2000-2017, and finally the mechanisms of disconnect between the Algerian economy and oil, where the study found that there is a direct correlation between oil prices and the Algerian balance of payments, through the impact of oil prices on the trade balance, which is the index, which measures the total difference between exports and imports.
