Abstract: This study aims to isolate and select a thermophilic strain producing lignocellulolytic enzymes. 10 strains are isolated from warm waters of El Hadjeb hemamm after growth on wheat bran medium as the sole source of carbon. The measurement of the enzymatic degradation activity of the wheat bran substrate has shown that the strain 1 secretes extracellular lignocellulolytic enzymes whose level of activity is higher compared to the other strains. The phenotypic identification of the strain revealed that it belongs to the genus Bacillus and the species Bacillus cereus. The enzymes of this strain would be applicable in the agri-food sector. Key words: Lignocellulolytic enzymes, Thermophilus, Bacillus cereus, wheat bran
