Abstract: The date palm, Phoenix dactylifera L. is the crop par excellence of the warm and dry regions of the globe. It is considered the main species cultivated in the Sahara..Our work deals with the morphological description (according to the IPGRI descriptor) of the nuclei of three date palm varieties (Deglet Nour, Ghars and Mech Degla) and the follow-up of the seedlings after the semi-nuclei. Observations of some morphological parameters are carried out for three months (February-March-April) from the 34th month. The results show that there are differences in the development of seedlings; its differences are explained on the one hand by the variety (Deglet Nour, Ghars and Mech Degla) and on the other hand by the morphological differences between the nuclei. These differences in seedling( length, shap, color, surface appearance, length and wldth, of petiole in the first leaf) as they are Also explained by the variety itself.Key words: Descriptor of date palm, Phoenix dactylifera, cores, seedling, Deglet Nour, Ghars et Mech
