The Arabic-Islamic city is characterized by it’s unique urban character, which distinguishes it from other cities It is based on the principles of urban derived from the teachings of the Islamic religion in planning ,It is rich in principles that indicate that they are the origin and not belonging to any other civilization ,and in order to determine the extent to which these principles are applied in Algeria, we took the old city of Sidi Okba as a study sample and compared it with the Arabic-Islamic city to see how these principles are applied and to prove that their planning is based on common principles and stems from the same source which makes it a unique ancient city that requires preservation and protection of it's historical and cultural heritage.
