Abstract: Evaporation of a liquid in a renewed atmosphere (open environment) is very important. The most widespread and typical example of evaporation chosen in this study is that of water. This phenomenon is characterized by the transfer of mass and heat between the liquid and gaseous phases. As a result, the phenomenon is described by the coupling of balance equations, one thermal and the other mass. The determination of the mass flow rate of steam is primordial, the problem of the proposed subject invites to study the influence of different characteristics of the evaporation liquid and the considered parameters of the atmosphere to which the vapor diffuses. The present work consists in the determination of the evaporation rate through a free surface of liquid water in the presence of an air flow and at rest. The study is carried out in different configurations. The work carried out focuses mainly on the mathematical formulation of the problem and the numerical application to determine the different influences on the mass flow rate of steam. Keywords - Evaporation rate, Stagnant film model, Stefan flux, Parametric study
