Algerian legislature provided for this independence in the Information Law and in the Law of Audiovisual Activity issued under Law No. 14-04, but that independence is mere ink on paper. The President of the Republic takes the task of selecting members, including the President, and appoints all members by presidential decree. then , These two powers lack constitutional protection; which is the best protection for their independence. The recent constitutional amendment of 2016 comes with an impressive range of institutions that were not guaranteed by the institutions of the written press control authority and the audiovisual control authority. These two autoritiesare also required by law to send an annual report on their activities to the President of the Republic, which affects their independence. In addition to the lack of financial independence. The government includes the necessary financial requirements for the media control authorities within the general budget of the state. All these things are organized by legal provisions lead to the subordination of of these two supervisory authorities : the written press and audiovisual control to the executive power represented in the person of the President in particular.en_US
