Abstract

Summary: The National Independent Authority of Elections Is a new mechanism developed by the Algerian legislator to reinforce the practice of democracy, for the first time under Organic Law 19-07 after It was previously called the Independent High Authority for Elections. The emergence of the National Independent Authority of Elections was a result of the failure of the previous authority and the deterioration of the political system in the country. This was confirmed by Organic Law 21-01 related to the new electoral system That would guarantee the integrity and transparency of the electoral process through the various powers conferred upon It, starting with its recognition by the constitution, from calling the electoral college until the announcement of the results. Its mission is to supervise and organize electoral processes in accordance with its legal system to be able to : Perform its duties with transparency, integrity and impartiality before, during and after the electoral process.
