Abstract: Discrimination between men and women on the basis of sex (male-female) or on the basis of innate (strong-weak) grounds constitutes a violation of the provisions of the Constitution and the norms of international conventions dealing with human rights. The origin is that both sexes are human beings and therefore have the same rights and duties, not because they are men and women, but because of the quality they are attached to them by birth. Amendments to the Algerian Family Code are all at the centre of equality between the two parties, as confirmed by the President's statement on 8 March 2014 - in a letter addressed to women on the day of their feast"... The Family Code amended in 2005 enabled the introduction of greater equality between spouses …".
