In the present thesis it is aimed to study the behavior of cylindrical shell structures under different loads and boundary conditions. It is found that cylindrical shell structures can work primarily by membrane action only in most cases, except for cases where loads, supports and geometry are specific. In such situation flexural behavior must be indicated and flexural theory is applied to obtain the different unknowns. It is also, through the analysis, noted that we still continue to apply membrane theory if supplemented by the edge effect theory in cases where the loads, geometry, and the supports are specific. Lastly, the buckling problems of cylindrical shell structures are studied to ensure that, in membrane action, compressive stresses are under the instability limits.en_US
