Abstract: The third region of the first region participated in the outbreak of the Algerian revolution on the 1st of November 1954, represented by the operations that took place in the city of Biskra. After the Soummam Conference held on the 20th of August 1956, the historical sixth province was formed. It included the first zone of the fourth region of the sixth province. The subdivision did not actually materialized until late 1958. This zone witnessed a well-organized political and military organization between 1956 and 1962, and it was divided into four sectors : 67, 68, 69, and 70. The region of Mechmouch is considered the center of military operations in this zone. Despite the difficult terrain of the region, the freedom fighters were able to adapt by establishing several operational centers and hideouts. The issues of logistics and funding were important. The main part of funding came the citizens. The sector relied on a military strategy aimed at inflicting significant losses on the French army and its scattered centers in the region, through ambushes, guerrilla attacks, and fedayeen operations. Additionally, the strategy focused on minimizing losses while withdrawing from battles. Despite the violent reactions from the colonial authorities, who committed heinous crimes against them, the Algerian revolution ultimately emerged victorious
