Abstract: The current study investigates the effect of using Facebook and YouTube on the academic achievement of English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners for Master’s One (M1) students at Mohamed Khider University of Biskra. Its goal is to give a general overview of social media platforms, particularly Facebook and YouTube, and to show how they can be used to enhance teaching and learning and change students' attitudes toward academic success. We hypothesized that the student's academic achievement would improve as a result of using the Facebook and YouTube platforms. We used the descriptive technique, which included two data collection instruments and a students' questionnaire that was addressed to master EFL learners (n = 25), in order to achieve the anticipated objectives of the present experiment. In addition, five teachers (N = 5) from the same department participated in a structured interview. The research showed that both teachers and students agreed on using social media sites like Facebook, YouTube, and other similar ones in the classroom it helps students learn concepts more effectively by putting theory into practice.
