Abstract: It aims at the effective role of university libraries in building and developing the repository by collecting, organizing and managing the intellectual production of researchers and making it available as the institutional digital repository as a link between the researcher and the information. Our study aimed to identify digital repositories and the role of libraries in its development, especially in light of the increase in the intellectual production of researchers. Institutional digital and shed light on its requirements and the most important difficulties that impede its construction and development. In our study, we relied on the analytical descriptive approach and data collection tools, the questionnaire and observation, and the questionnaire was distributed to the governors of the libraries of the University of Biskra, then we unloaded and analyzed the data obtained through the answers of the study sample, and the general results of the study were reached, as the warehouse enjoys the comprehensiveness of the objective content And the diversity of information sources and the adoption of a clear management policy in addition to the possibilities of research, viewing and downloading to facilitate access for researchers to information in the fastest time and with the least effort, and then some recommendations were presented through what was reached through the field study
