Abstract

This study dealt with a topic entitled the effects of ergonomics on the quality of services in university libraries, and the research problem revolved around a main question: Does ergonomics affect the quality of services provided by library staff? The study relied on the selection of an intentional sample represented by the governors of the libraries of the University of Shetma, and a case study approach was followed in the analysis of the study, and we relied on the codified interview as the main tool for data collection, which contains the latter questions about personal data, and a set of questions on the subject addressed to governors in university libraries Qutb Shetma, in addition to the standardized interview tool We relied on observation in order to answer the following hypotheses: • Ergonomics affect the quality of services in the university libraries under study. • There are actual features of the application of ergonomics in the university libraries under study. • There are a number of obstacles facing university libraries while applying ergonomics. The study, after unpacking the data of the study and analyzing it, reached a set of results to achieve the hypotheses set, which indicate that there is an effect of ergonomics in improving the quality of services within the university libraries of the University of Shetma. The study concluded with a set of recommendations that we consider important to improve the level of effectiveness of services when applying ergonomics in these libraries.
