dc.description.abstractThis Study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between the level of alexithymia and self-esteem in adolescents suffering from obesity, and to detect any statistically significant differences depending on the" gender " variable. To answer the questions of the study, we used the descriptive-associative approach, on a sample of adolescents with obesity, who were selected in an intentional way after confirming them by calculating the body mass index, so that the research sample amounted to(45) adolescents, (13) males and(32) females, the Toronto alexithymia scale and the Rosenberg self-esteem scale were applied to them, after confirming their psychometric characteristics. Several results were reached : - The level of alexithymia in adolescents suffering from obesity is high. - The level of self-esteem of the respondents is low. - The absence of significant differences in the level of alexithymia among adolescents suffering from obesity depending on the sex variant. - The absence of significant differences in the level of self-esteem among adolescents with obesity depending on the gender variant. - The existence of à positive correlation and a statistically significant function between the level of alexithymia and self-esteem in adolescents suffering from obesity.en_US
