dc.description.abstractThis is what the novel of the American granddaughter, InaamKachaji, raised in a distinct and different way. She was exposed to topics that touch reality and society, such as : identity, dependence, cultural transformation, and belonging, and she portrayed the East and West as two completely different entities, by presenting the differences formed between the two cultures, and showing the tensions and challenges. Which arose because of it, including the identity conflicts and problems experienced by the main characters in the novel. This is what we tried to simplify in the two chapters of this research. In the first chapter, we dealt with the dualism of East and West in the Arabic novel, and the relationship that binds them. In the second chapter, wetried to clarify the identity conflict between East and West in the American Grand daughter novel, while observing the mutual images and visions between themen_US
