Abstract

In this research, we address the problem of definition in the modern Arabic lexicon, and we have adopted Chapter Ta’ from the intermediate dictionary of the Arabic Language Academy as a sample for this study, trying to extract the approach of the executive body of the lexicon in employing semantic determinants and distributing them to the entries of the lexicon, as we seek through this research to identify the most important determinants The meaning and the main means of explanation and definition used to reveal the meaning of the word, in addition to the secondary determinants that help bring the hidden aspects of meaning closer to the reader
