Abstract: to attract and promote foreign direct investment, various developing countries are working to create their investment climate, while paying more attention to investment policies, by amending various laws and regulations related to foreign direct investment, and among these countries we chose Algeria, China and Brazil, in order to answer the problem of the study Which is interested in knowing the effectiveness of investment policies in attracting foreign direct investment. Using a descriptive and analytical approach to various international data and indicators, we concluded that investment policies in Algeria are ineffective compared to Brazil and China, due to the weakness of the remaining components of the investment climate, including poor infrastructure, business performance environment and widespread corruption. There is also no clear strategy to attract foreign direct investment in Algeria, where investment policies in Algeria were characterized by confusion and lack of clarity, as Algeria attracted much less direct foreign investment flows than China and Brazil, and it reflects the efforts made by the three countries to create an investment climate.
