Incoming life and symbols through the media and information and communication technology, which affected the capabilities of families, especially urban ones, due to the transformation of cities by modern capitalism into consumer societies. The main question included how the consumer culture is reflected on the urban family, and to research and discover the merits of the subject and search for how to reflect, the focus was on three dimensions as possible hypotheses that included several indicators. Represented in the social dimension and social relations within the city in terms of relations of cooperation between individuals, parents and neighbors in holding banquets and events, communication of families, relations of exchanging visits and congratulations on occasions and birthdays. As for the study population and the sample, we used the cadastral cluster sample represented in selecting five neighborhoods from the districts of the city of Biskra, planned and unplanned neighborhoods. The family has its choices and preferences. In collecting data, we relied on the observation and questionnaire tool to collect sufficient information to understand the subject and its hypotheses. We also relied on conducting interviews with officials from the Directorate of Commerce, the Commercial Registry and the municipality, and translating some statistics. The study concluded that the consumer culture has negative repercussions on family spending for urban families in Biskra city through pressure on the budget and insufficient monthly financial resources, especially for low-income families, with an increase in the diversity of spending doors, as spending moved from essential to luxury, declining savings values, and the emergence of the phenomenon of buying By installments and borrowing. The study also revealed that the consumer culture has repercussions on the lifestyle of urban family members through changing the style of food, clothing, entertainment, spending leisure time, interest in appearance and body, exercise and healthy food in the urban milieu of excellence. The study also showed that consumer culture has repercussions on the social relations between families in the city, where the real relations have partially diminished in favor of the virtual, and communication through social media and the commemoration of events and holidays through them has become an area of social differentiation. These aforementioned repercussions occur in planned and unplanned neighborhoods. Our studies with previous studies largely in the economic, urban and social dimension
