Abstract: ABSTRACT: Wind power is an affordable, efficient and abundant source of electricity. With the development of wind power technology, variable speed constant frequency wind turbine has become the mainstream today. This work is a contribution to the study of this type of energy. In this thesis, a study analysis of a complete wind energy conversion system is presented (in the first area where the pitch angle is not applied), the system based on a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and connected to the fixed grid frequency. A vector control with stator flux orientation of the DFIG is also used to control independently the active and reactive powers between the stator and the grid. The proposed controller generates the references rotor voltages required to guarantee their desired reference values. The complete system is modeled and simulated in the MATLAB and Simulink. Comparison studies have been performed between the conventional PI controller, fuzzy logic and fuzzy self-tuning PI controller to investigate its dynamic and static performances. Electrical machinery, especially induction machines have a non-linear dynamics, and the control of these machines by conventional controllers is not always effective, which justifies the use of fuzzy logic. The results show that, the fuzzy self-tuning PI controller which has been proposed. Therefore, compared with conventional controller this type has more advantages and the control performance is greatly improved by using this type of control. To maximize the use of wind energy, the MPPT control is indispensable for optimization the conversion of energy. Due to various factors, the MPPT control maybe constitute one of the most attractive solutions to achieve this optimization.
