In the hydraulic installations, the unsteady pressurized flows caused by the variations of the flow conditions often lead to fatal consequences, from where need for a fine analysis of the dynamic behaviour of the systems in these exceptional conditions. This work was then concerned the study of the hydraulic transients meaning numerical simulation and this by the use of the Finite Volume Method (F.V.M), largely applied in the resolution of the hyperbolic problems. In first part of work, devoted to the review of literature, are given the general information and state of the art concerning the problems, mathematical modelling of the hydraulic transient then the numerical methods used for resolution of the differential equations of the unsteady flow. After having presented the traditional models based on finite-differences approach (MacCormack scheme and method of the characteristics), a particular attention is given in this work to the Godunov type and Richtmyer-Lax Wendroff finite volume method and associated Riemann problem.en_US
