As part of our study of medicinal plants, we conducted a phytochemical and biological study in the plant Marrubium vulgare which belongs to the lamiaceae family. The extraction of sesquiterpenes lactone was carried out by hydroalcoholic maceration and then decantation by different organic solvent. From the stain colors, thin layer chromatography (TLC) analysis shows that this species is rich in lactone sesquiterpenes. The antibacterial study showed that the chloroform extract possess different effects on the bacterial species tested.en_US
