Abstract: The aim of this work is to study the level of infestation of date moth Ectomelois ceratoniae zeller on five varieties of date palm (Deglet Nour, Degla Beida, Ghras, Tantbucht and Tinissine) in the region of EL Meghaier. Our results showed that three varieties (Deglet Nour, Degla Beida and Tantbucht) were more infested by E.ceratoniae compared to Ghras and Tinissine varieties. When monitoring the population of date moth dynamics with pheromone traps, we found two generation. Biochemical composition analysis showed that the most infested varieties (Deglet Nour, Degla Beida and Tantbucht) where rich in saccharose compared to other tested varieties. Key words: Ectomelois ceratoniae, date palm, pheromone traps, Biochemical composition.
