Abstract: Mesophilic cellulolytic strains were isolated on a carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) solid medium, from the feces of the goat to the region of Mkhadema, wilaya of Biskra. In a first step, 10 strains were isolated on the solid synthetic medium based on CMC. In a second step, based on the measurement of cellulase activity in the supernatants of liquid cultures, one of the strains showed the highest cellulase activity. One of the strains showed the highest cellulase activity (0.373 UI/ml) at 50 ° C. and pH 7. It belongs to the genus Cellulomonas and more specifically to the species Cellulomonas flavigena. The cellulases produced by this bacterium are active at 50 ° C and pH 7, properties that are required for probable applications in the paper and bioethanol industries. Key word: goat, mesophilic, Cellulomonas flavigena, CMCase
