Abstract: This work carried out concerns an experimental study of conversion of solar energy into thermal energy using a solar cylindro-parabolic concentrator oriented by means of a sun tracking system. The experiment was performed on a cylindro-parabolic concentrator. The focus is 6 m in length and a temperature measuring device, located at the focal plane of the focus in order to measure the temperature. The developed cylindro-parabolic concentrator uses a number of parameters such as the average monthly solar radiation that allows us to estimate the direct radiation at the reflector, the geometric concentration and the heat exchange between the opening of the cylindro-parabolic trough and opening the focus, allowing the evaluation of the temperature at the end. This concentration model leads to temperature levels of between 350 ° C and 450 ° C. Key words: Solar radiation, Heat transfer, Cylindro-parabolic concentrator, Focus, Reflector, Focal plane.
